Sweet Potato Chaat Recipe is an instant recipe, if you have the chutneys ready. You can also add the roasted peanuts, papdi or sev to make this chaat more crunchy and flavorful, but I have made this recipe simple and healthy. The sweet potatoes that I used had orange flesh. You can use other varieties of sweet potatoes too. Here in the US, they are always so readily available. I don’t really have to wait for a particular season for me to enjoy them.
In India, shakarkandi ki chaat aka sweet potato chaat is extremely common on roadside during winters. The sweet potatoes are cooked directly on coal and then cut into chunks, sprinkled with spices and served with lemon juice. You will not get that smoky flavour if you roast the sweet potatoes in an oven or steam them in a microwave or pressure cooker or pan. But nevertheless this recipe of sweet potato chaat still tastes good.
