Mastani drink is available in myriad variety of flavors like chocolate mastani, dry fruits mastani, kesar pista, pineapple, vanilla etc. It is originated from Pune but now it has gain popularity to all over India as a delicious street dessert. There are many different stories that how this recipe got its name as Mastani. The most famous is that this drink is named after Peshwa Bajirao’s wife Mastani. The other story is that its taste is so mast and it got its name as Mastani. It tastes awesome and it is perfect for hot summer days.
Mango Mastani can be prepared with Vanilla ice-cream, Kesar pista ice-cream or Mango ice-cream. I have used homemade Vanilla ice-cream for this recipe, though store-bought ice-creams also goes well with this mango mastani recipe.

Instructions for how to make Mango Mastani at home:
- Firstly, take 1/4 cup roughly chopped strawberries in blender jar and add 1 tbsp water to it.
- Blend it coarsely to make strawberry crush and keep it aside. Add sugar as required, if strawberries are not sweet.
- Now prepare a thick mango milkshake, by taking 1 cup mango cubes in a blender jar.
- And blend it to thick mango puree. Add sugar if required. If mangoes are very sweet then you can skip sugar.
- Add 1 cup chilled milk and 2 scoops of Vanilla ice-cream to it.
- Blend to thick mango milkshake. Keep it aside.
- To assemble, take two tall glasses and pour 1 tbsp prepared strawberry crush in each glass.
- hen add 1 tbsp mango pieces to each glass. Then add 1 scoop vanilla ice cream and chopped dry fruits ( almonds and cashew nuts) to each glass.
- Then pour equal (half-and-half) mango milkshakes in both glasses and top with 1-1 scoop vanilla ice cream.
- Top them with chopped mango pieces, strawberry pieces and chopped nuts.
- Delicious chilled Mango Mastani is ready to serve. Enjoy!

Tips:
- Add sugar to milkshake if the mangoes are not sweet.
- You can use mango ice cream for intense flavour.
- Frozen mangoes can also be used to prepare mango milkshake.
- You can garnish it with tutti- fruitti, sweet cherry if you like.
- Use dry fruits of your choice.
- If strawberries are nor accessible to you, then you can prepare it with mangoes only.
- Mango Mastani tastes great when served chilled.
