There are many ways to prepare Coconut Laddu. They can be made by using mawa or condensed milk or even sugar syrup/chashni. But I have used simple and the most common way, preparing ladoo with the combination of milk and sugar, as you don't need any Khoya/ Mawa/ Condensed Milk for this. Alternatively, if you have less time then you can replace the milk and sugar with condensed milk. For 200gm desiccated coconut, you need 220gm condensed milk. These Ladoo can be prepared with fresh coconut also, but you have to roast the coconut for longer time.

Instructions for how to make Coconut Ladoo:
- Firstly, heat 1 tbsp Ghee in a large pan/kadai. Then add 1.5 cups of desiccated coconut to it.
- Roast coconut on low flame for 5 minutes while stirring continuously. The coconut will begin aromatic and its color will also change slightly.
- Then add 1 cup of milk to it and mix well making sure the coconut gets wet completely.
- Next, add 1/2 cup sugar to it and mix well. Sugar starts to melt and mixture turns liquidy.
- Stir continuously on low to medium flame until all the milk evaporates.

Tips:
- You can even dry roast coconut in the beginning, but roasting in ghee makes it taste even better.
- In place of sugar you can use Desi khand or jaggery, but then the colour of laddu will be on the brown shade.
- Adding food colour is totally optional and added just to make them more attractive.
- Cook the mixture of laddu on low to medium flame, else it might burn.
- I did not add any flavor but you can add according to your preference like green cardamom powder, rose essence or kesar.
- Coconut ladoo or Nariyal laddu tastes great with their own coconut flavour.
