Fried Potato Raita is made up with simple ingredients such as fresh curd , potatoes and some spices which are always available in Indian kitchen. This recipe is my kids favourite, so I make it very frequently. Sometimes when my kids don't want to eat curry then this recipe works very well in the situation.
In this recipe you just need to fry boiled potatoes with some spices like red chili powder, black salt, roasted cumin powder etc. You can also check my other raita recipes like Mix veg Raita Recipe, Cucumber Raita Recipe and Boondi Raita Recipe.
Instructions for how to make Fried Potato Raita:
- Take a mixing bowl and add curd to it. Whisk the curd to make a smooth silky consistency of curd. You can use electronic mixer/blender or hand whisk to whisk it.
- Heat a pan and add one tsp oil in it.
- Add boiled potatoes to it.
- Stir and fry it for 5 mins or till slightly golden brown as shown in the picture.
- Add roasted black pepper, cumin powder and mint powder to the pan.
- Then add salt, black salt and red chili powder to it.
- Finally, add chopped coriander leaves to it.
- Mix all the ingredients well to coat the potatoes with spices.
- For serving, add 2 tbsp of beaten curd then add 2 tbsp of fried potatoes in the serving bowl.
- Then add more 2 tbsp of curd above the potatoes.
- Garnish it with red chili powder, roasted cumin powder or mint powder. Fried Potato Raita is ready to serve. Enjoy your food with this spicy/chatpata raita.

Tips:
- To make it more chatpata you can add chaat masala to the pan while adding spices or you can sprinkle chaat masala while garnishing it.
