Instructions for how to make Marble Cake (eggless):
- Firstly, in a large bowl take oil. Oil must be flavourless and odorless.
- Add sugar to it.
- Mix sugar and oil with the help of whisk/ spatula.
- Add 1/2 cup of milk to it. Save the rest 1/4 cup of milk, which we will use later.
- Place a sieve and add maida.
- Add baking soda, baking powder and a pinch of salt.
- Sieve all the dry ingredients.
- Mix all the ingredients together making sure there are no lumps. Make a smooth silky cake batter.
- Divide the cake batter into two equal parts in two bowls.
- Add Vanilla extract in one bowl, mix it and keep it aside.
- Add cocoa powder and the remaining 1/4th milk in the another bowl. Mix them.
- Now, the two cake batters are ready. One is vanilla and other is chocolate cake batter.
- Grease the cake tin (6 or 7 inch) and place a butter paper at the bottom to avoid sticking. I have used glass baking bowl. You can use any cake tin.
- Add 2 spoons of chocolate cake batter then on top of it pour 2 spoons of vanilla cake batter.
- Add chocolate and vanilla cake batter alternatively.
- Now, using a toothpick make 4 straight lines from center.
- Then make 4 diagonal lines to give it a design of a flower or a star. Pat the pan twice to remove the air incorporated into the cake batter.
- Place the cake tin/bowl into the preheated oven. Bake the cake at 180 degree Celsius or 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45-50 minutes or or bake till the toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Marble cake is ready. Allow the cake to cool completely. Cut it into triangular pieces and serve it or store it in an airtight container.
