In this recipe, I have shared two ways of preparing Veg Hot Dog -In the first way, give all the veggies a sausage shape and shallow fry or grill them and the second way is totally desi- street style way, just fill the veggie mixture in the Hot Dog buns. If you find shaping the sausage roll is overhead, you may skip it and follow the second way showed in this recipe. It is also better if you want to reduce the amount of oil in your recipe. Both tastes great, there is not much difference in the flavours. So, any way you like give this recipe a try and enjoy.

Instructions for making Veg Hot Dogs -2 Ways:
Firstly, prepare mayonnaise spread and veggie mixture as mentioned below. Then divide the veggie mixture into two portions.
Way 1- Veg Hot Dog:
- Take one part of veggies mixture in a bowl and then add 1/3 cup bread crumbs to it and prepare a dough.
- Grease hands with oil and pinch a large ball sized mixture. Then roll into a long cylindrical shape.
- Likewise, prepare all the cylindrical rolls.
- Grill or shallow fry them in a pan. Cook all the sides well.
- Slit the hot dog in the centre & add 2 tsp prepared Mayonnaise spread to it.
- Place in a prepared veg sausage roll in the centre and garnish with tomato ketchup. You can also use mustard sauce also for garnishing.
Way 2- Veg Hot Dog:
- Heat a pan and boil 1/4 cup water in it and then add 1/2 part of the prepared veggies mixture and 1 tbsp tomato sauce to it.
- Mix them well and cook for 2-3 mins. or till the veggie mixture thickens.
- Slit the hot dog in the centre and add 2 tsp prepared Mayonnaise spread to it.
- Add 1.5 tbsp of thick veggies mixture to it.
- Sprinkle few finely chopped onion over the veggie mixture and then garnish it with grated paneer.
Both Desi Style Veg Hot Dogs are ready to serve. Enjoy!
1. Take 2 tbsp Eggless Mayonnaise in a small bowl and then add 2 tsp finely chopped onion, 2 tsp finely chopped capsicum/green bell pepper to it.
2. Add 2 tsp finely chopped fresh coriander, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp ground black pepper and 1/2 tsp mixed herbs/Oregano to it.
3. Mix all the ingredients well.
4. Mayonnaise spread for Hot Dog is ready. Keep it aside for later use.
5. In a large pan/ kadai heat 2 tsp oil and sauté finely chopped 2 cloves of garlic and then sauté 1 finely chopped onion.
6. Add 1/2 tsp grated ginger and 2 finely chopped green chili to it.
7. Now, add 1/2 finely chopped capsicum, 1 grated carrot and 1 finely chopped tomato to it. Remove all the seeds from tomato before adding.
8. Then add 1 tbsp sweet corn and 1/2 cup boiled and mashed beans/Rajma to it. Mix them well and sauté well until the vegetables shrink slightly.
9. Add 3 boiled and mashed potatoes to it.
10. Add all the spices- 3/4 tsp or salt to taste, 1/2 tsp ground black pepper, 1/2 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp cumin powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala and 1/3 tsp dried mango powder/Amchur to it. Sauté for a minute or until the spices turn aromatic.
11. Add 1/2 cup grated paneer. Mix until everything is well combined. Veggies mixture is ready. Divide the mixture in 2 parts.
12. Take one part of veggies mixture in a bowl and then add 1/3 cup bread crumbs to it and prepare a dough. For bread crumbs, grind 2-3 bread slices in a grinder.
13. Grease hands with oil and pinch a large ball sized mixture. Then roll into a long cylindrical shape.
14. Likewise, prepare all the cylindrical rolls.
15. Grill or shallow fry them in a pan. Cook all the sides well.
16. Slit the hot dog in the centre or alternatively, you can slit from the cross side.
17. Put 2 tsp prepared Mayonnaise spread to it.
18. Place in a prepared veg sausage roll in the centre and garnish with tomato ketchup. You can also use mustard sauce also for garnishing.
19. Heat a pan and boil 1/4 cup water in it and then add 1/2 part of the prepared veggies mixture and 1 tbsp tomato sauce to it.

Tips:
- Always use fresh Hot Dog buns for the recipe.
- You can add vegetables according to your preference like cabbage, grated beet root etc.
- To make Hot Dog more protein rich, you can add 1/2 cup nutri/Soya in place of mashed potatoes.
- Adjust the spices according to your taste.
- Adding Rajma gives a texture similar to sausages, but you can skip it if you want.
