Pasta is always kid's favourite food and this Tricolour Pasta Recipe is very simple to prepare with simple ingredients, which attracts kids a lot. It can also be prepared for both Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations for kids, which represents the three colours of Indian flag. Here is the recipe with some tips and step by step instructions and pictures.
1. Ingredients Preview.
2. Firstly, in a large vessel boil enough water and add 1 cup tricolour spiral pasta to it.
3. Then add 1/2 tsp salt and 1 tsp oil to it. Stir well and boil for 8-10 minutes or until pasta becomes soft/tender.
4. Drain off the water once pasta turns al dente and keep it aside.
5. Next, in a large pan/kadai heat 2 tsp oil and sauté 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic cloves. Then add 1 chopped onion to it and sauté till they turn soft.
6. Then add red/orange and green chopped bell pepper to it.
7. Add 1 tbsp tomato ketchup and 3 tbsp pasta sauce to it. Mix them well. If pasta sauce is not available then you can use tomato puree.
8. Add 1/2 tsp ground black pepper, salt to taste and 1 tsp mixed herbs to it.
9. Mix well and cook for a minute.
10. Add in cooked pasta and mix gently till the sauce gets coated well.
11. Tricolour pasta is ready and add grated cheese if you want.
12. Finally, enjoy Tricolour Pasta hot garnished with cheese.
