Raw Papaya Rava Chilla is a very healthy, easy and tasty breakfast recipe, prepared with sooji, grated raw papaya, fresh cream and vegetables of your choice. Chillas are basically savory pancakes. It can be served with butter, tomato sauce, tamarind chutney, green chutney, peanut chutney or coconut chutney. Here is the recipe with some tips and step by step instructions and pictures.
1. Firstly, take 1.5 cups of rava/ suji/ semolina in a large mixing bowl.
2. Then add 1/2 cup fresh cream, salt to taste, 1/2 tsp ground black pepper and 1 cup water to it.
3. With the help of whisk or spoon, mix well without forming any lumps. Keep it aside and rest for 20 minutes or till rava swells completely.
4. Now add 1.5 cup grated raw papaya to it. There is no need to squeeze papaya.
5. Next, add finely chopped 1 onion, 1/2 capsicum, 1 carrot, 1 green chili and 2 tbsp green coriander to it.
6. Mix well and add water if required to get thick flowing consistency batter.
7. Now grease the non-stick pan or dosa pan.
8. Take a ladle of the batter.
9. Gently spread the batter on the pan to make medium-sized chillas. Spread the batter to a neat round shape.
10. Pour ½ tsp of over the cheela if you are using non-stick pan and around the edges if you are using cast-iron pan. When the base has cooked and becomes light golden, then flip and cook the other side of cheela.
11. Flip over and press gently making sure chilla gets cooked from both sides.
12. Yummy and healthy Raw Papaya Sooji Cheela is ready to serve. Enjoy it with tamarind chutney or green chutney or tomato sauce or butter.
