Dahi papdi chaat is a popular North Indian chaat snack which is sweet, spicy and tangy, prepared with deep-fried small flat poori, curd, chaat chutneys and few spices. This recipes gives the flavour of the curd with crispiness of papdi, soft boiled potatoes and boiled chickpeas, sweet & spicy chutneys. Here is the recipe with step by step instructions and pictures.
1. Firstly, prepare curd/ dahi for chaat. Take 1 cup beaten curd in a small bowl and then add1/2 tbsp sugar and 1/2 tsp black salt to it. mix really well to dissolve the sugar. Keep it aside.
2. Take 15 papdi in a serving plate. You can take any homemade papdi or store bought papri.
3. Top the papdis with 3 tbsp chopped boiled potatoes, 2 tbsp boiled black chana/ black garbanzo and 2 tbsp finely chopped onion.
4. Drizzle 4 tbsp prepared curd over it.
5. Sprinkle a pinch of salt, red chili powder, freshly roasted cumin powder and chaat masala over it.
6. Next, top it with 2-3 tsp green chutney and 2-3 tsp tamarind chutney.
7. Pour 1 tbsp more prepared curd and top it with 2 tbsp sev. Garnish it with finely chopped fresh green coriander and few pomegranate seeds. Again sprinkle a pinch of red chili powder and chaat masala.
8. Mouth watering Dahi Papdi Chaat is ready to serve. Enjoy this chaat immediately, if you serve it later the papdis become soggy.
