Milk Peda is a traditional Indian sweet. There are several flavours and varieties of peda recipe which depends on its ingredients. Today, I am going to share Kesar flavoured Milk Peda recipe made with milk powder, which is very easy and instant to prepare. Giving it apple shape makes it more attractive. Here is the recipe with step by step instructions and pictures.
1. Ingredients Preview.
2. Add milk in a non-stick pan and then add sugar to it. Stir it till the sugar dissolved.
3. Add milk powder to it.
4. Mix it well and make sure there is no lumps in the mixture. Switch on the burner at medium flame.
5. Add saffron milk to it and mix it well too.
6. Stir it continuously till the mixture gets thick.
7. Keep the flame low and add 1 tsp of ghee (clarified butter) to it.
8. The mixture thickens and starts to separate from the pan. Turn off the flame.
9. Spread and mix it well till the dough turns soft and smooth in a hot pan. Let it be cool so that you can touch it.
10. For a smooth and crack free ball, grease your hands with ghee. Scoop a tbsp of dough and prepare a lemon sized ball. Likewise, prepare all the balls.
11. At the center, press it gently. Milk Pedas are ready at this stage. But to give it apple shape you have to do few more steps.
12. Place a clove at the center of each ball. (Which becomes its stem)
13. Take a liquid red food colour in a small bowl and with paint brush paint all the apples as shown in the picture.
(You can use red colour powder also. Take a pinch of red colour and add few drops of water in it.)
14. Garnish it with pistachio, which looks like its leaf. Apple Milk Peda is ready to serve. Enjoy!
