Mango Mastani is a popular dessert drink from Pune, Maharashtra and prepared with thick mango milk shake, strawberry crush, ice-cream, mango chunks and dry fruits. It is generally served as a street food dessert, as it is rich with mango and ice-cream. This recipe is very easy and simple to prepare at home. Here is the recipe with step by step instructions and pictures.
1. Firstly, take 1/4 cup roughly chopped strawberries in blender jar and add 1 tbsp water to it.
2. Blend it coarsely to make strawberry crush and keep it aside. Add sugar as required, if strawberries are not sweet. Alternatively, you can also use strawberry syrup.
3. Now prepare a thick mango milkshake, by taking 1 cup mango cubes in a blender jar.
4. And blend it to thick mango puree. Add sugar if required. If mangoes are very sweet then you can skip sugar.
5. Add 1 cup chilled milk and 2 scoops of Vanilla ice-cream to it.
6. Blend to thick mango milkshake. Keep it aside.
7. To assemble, take two tall glasses and pour 1 tbsp prepared strawberry crush in each glass.
8. Then add 1 tbsp mango pieces to each glass. Then add 1 scoop vanilla ice cream and chopped dry fruits ( almonds and cashew nuts) to each glass. Alternatively, mango ice cream can be used if you prefer.
9. Then pour equal (half-and-half) mango milkshakes in both glasses and top with 1-1 scoop vanilla ice cream.
10. Top them with chopped mango pieces, strawberry pieces and chopped nuts. Delicious chilled Mango Mastani is ready to serve. Enjoy!
