Hakka noodles is a popular Indo-Chinese dish of stir fried noodles. It is served as a starter in restaurants and also famous street food in India. It is very easy, simple and yummy recipe. Here is the recipe with some tips and step by step instructions and pictures.
1. Ingredients Preview.
2. Firstly, heat 8 cups of water in a large vessel and add 1 tsp salt and 2 tsp oil in it.
3. Once the water comes to a boil, add 200 gm Hakka Noodles to it.
4. Stir and boil for 3 minutes or until the noodles turn al dente. Refer package instructions to know the cooking time.
5. Drain off the noodles and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process and remove the starch. Keep them aside.
6. Next, heat 2 tbsp oil in a wok/kadai and add 3 finely chopped garlic cloves,1 inch finely chopped ginger, and 2 slit green chilies to it and stir fry for a minute.
7. Then add the 3 to 4 spring onions, 1 onion, 1/2 capsicum, 1/2 red bell pepper and 1 carrot julienne. Stir fry for 3-4 minutes or until the vegetables shrink slightly.
8. Now add 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp tomato sauce, 1 tbsp red chili sauce,1 tbsp vinegar, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp ground black pepper to it.
9. Stir fry until the sauces combine well.
10. Now add boiled noodles and stir fry.
11. Toss well again and stir fry for a minute or two.
12. Finally, garnish it with spring onion greens. Veg Hakka Noodles are ready to serve. Enjoy!
