These laddu are prepared for festivals like Diwali, Janamashtami, Shivratri, Ganesh Chaturthi, or Navratri ,and for any fasting days. Here is the recipe with some tips and step by step instructions and pictures.
1. Firstly, heat 1 tbsp Ghee in a large pan/kadai.
2. Then add 1.5 cups of desiccated coconut to it.
3. Roast coconut on low flame for 5 minutes while stirring continuously. The coconut will begin aromatic and its color will also change slightly.
4. Then add 1 cup of milk to it and mix well making sure the coconut gets wet completely.
5. Next, add 1/2 cup sugar to it and mix well. Sugar starts to melt and mixture turns liquidy.

7. Divide the mixture in 3-4 parts and cool completely. This step is only if you want colourful ladoos. If you like white laddus only then skip this step.
8. Add 2 drops of each food colour- pink, green and yellow. This step is totally optional.
9. Take little portion of mixture in your hands and prepare small balls to form ladoo.
10. Roll it with desiccated coconut. This step is also optional, however it makes laddu more attractive.
