Black Chickpea Chat/ Kala Chana Chaat is a simple, easy, healthy and delicious chaat recipe made with boiled black chickpeas, potato or sweet potato, chaat chutneys and few spices. Ingredients for Black Chana Chaat:
 1 cup Black Chickpeas/ Kala ChanaBoiled
 1 tsp Oil
 ½ Tomato Finely Chopped
 ½ OnionFinely Chopped
 1 PotatoBoiled & cubed
 1 Sweet PotatoBoiled & cubed
 2 tbsp Fresh Coriander Leaves/ CilantroFinely Chopped
 4 Mint leavesDry or Fresh
 ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder/ Haldi
 ½ tsp Red Chili Powder
 ¼ tsp Garam Masala
 ½ tsp Chaat Masala
 ¼ tsp Dried Mango Powder/ Amchur
 ½ tsp or Salt to taste
 1 tbsp Tamarind Chutney
 1 tbsp Green Chutney
 2 tbsp Curd/ plain yogurt
For Toppings:
 ¼ Onion Finely Chopped
 ¼ TomatoFinely Chopped
 3 tbsp Sev
 1 tbsp Curd/ Plain yogurt
 2 tsp Tamarind Chutney
 1 tsp Green Chutney
 1 tsp Fresh Green CorianderFinely Chopped
 2 pinches Cumin PowderFreshly Roasted
Directions for preparing Black Chana Chaat with step by step Photos:

1. Firstly, heat 2 tsp oil in a pan/kadai and add 1 cup of boiled black chana. Continue to sauté for 2 minutes.

2. Keeping the flame on low, add ¼ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp red chili powder, ¼ tsp garam masala, ¼ tsp dried mango powder/ amchur, ½ tsp chaat masala and salt to taste.

3. Sauté on low flame until spices turn aromatic.

4. Mash off few chana to have a good texture.

5. Transfer the spiced kala chana to a bowl.

6. Then add boiled & cubed potato and sweet potato to it.

7. Next, add finely chopped onion, tomatoes, fresh green coriander and 4 mint leaves to it. If you have dry mint leaves then crush them or you can add 1/3 tsp mint powder.

8. Add 1 tbsp green chutney, 1 tbsp tamarind chutney, and 2 tbsp curd to it.

9. Mix well making sure everything is combined well.

10. Transfer the black chana over the plate for serving.

11. Top it with 1 tbsp curd, 1 tsp green chutney and 1 tsp tamarind chutney.

12. Then sprinkle 2 tsp finely chopped onion, 2 tsp tomato, 3 tbsp sev, 1 tsp coriander leaves and 2 pinches of freshly roasted cumin powder.
