Aloo chana chaat recipe is an ideal street food or chaat recipe, which is extremely simple and can be made within minutes with minimal ingredients available in most of the kitchens. It is a tasty, tangy and easy chaat recipe. It can be served as a starter, brunch or as an evening snack. If you have some boiled chickpeas left, then its pretty simple to assemble this chaat. You can prepare the chaat chutneys a day before and refrigerate. The tamarind chutney keeps well for some weeks. Whereas the green chutney keeps well for two or three days. Here is the recipe with step by step instructions and pictures.
1. Ingredients Preview.
2. Firstly, in a mixing bowl take boiled potato cubes and boiled chickpeas.
3. Add half of finely chopped onion and tomatoes to it. Will use half of it at plating time.
4. Add finely chopped fresh coriander to it.
5. Add black salt and red chili powder to it. I have used Kashmiri Red Chili Powder.
6. Add Chaat Masala and salt to it.
7. Add sugar and black salt in the beaten curd and mix them well. This step is optional but it enhances the taste and makes the chat more tasty.
8. Add 2 tbsp prepared curd and 2 tsp tamarind chutney to it.
9. Add 2 tsp green chutney to it.
10. Take few papadis in your hand and crush them over the mixture. Papdis are optional, however it gives a crunch to chaat. Mix all the ingredients well.
11. Transfer this mixture to a serving plate and spread it uniformly.
12. Top it with 1 tbsp curd.
13. Then add 1 tsp green chutney.
14. Then sprinkle some finely chopped onion and tomatoes.
15. Top it with 1 tsp tamarind chutney.
16. Sprinkle some chaat masala and handful sev over it.
17. Aloo Chana Chaat is ready to serve. Enjoy!
